The Liantec EMB-5740 is a 5.25"
drive-size multiple Ethernet EmBoard based on VIA C7-Eden
x86 platform with onboard four Gbit Ethernet, mini-PCI,
CompactFlash socket and embedded
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution to provide the compact,
low power, high integration and flexible expansibility for the
industrial embedded computing application.
With the
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution,
the EMB-5740
EmBoard features the flexible modular PCI-based expansibility
including more Ethernet, mini-PCI and PCMCIA PC Card
interfaces and other PCI-based customized interface modules, could
be integrated as
the niche industrial
networking computing solution with multiple Ethernet, multiple WLAN
and WWAN interfaces for the firewall, VPN, VoIP, WAN / WWAN router /
DHCP / DMZ / WLAN AP station and other networking application.

The
Liantec
EMB-5740 is a
5.25" drive-size EmBoard with 203 x 146 mm or 8 x 5.75 inches
of dimension, and offers the onboard VIA low power embedded C7-Eden
CPU, onboard 512MB DDR2 SDRAM and one DIMM socket, four Ethernet,
mini-PCI, CompactFlash socket and the
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution for the networking servers and
workstations that feature the small size and high integration.
VIA Embedded C7-Eden Platform with PadLock Security Engine
Based on the VIA embedded C7-Eden platform, the
Liantec
EMB-5740 EmBoard
offers the CPU built-in
VIA PadLock Security Engine to enhance the information
protection ability. The
EMB-5740 also
features low power consumption, high processing capacity with
400MHz FSB and DDR2 memory, chipset built-in VGA core, bootable
Hi-Speed USB ports, Serial ATA (SATA) interfaces, mini-PCI and
CompactFlash solid state flash disk socket with +12V DC single power
operating for industrial compact and embedded networking computing
solution.
Onboard Multiple Ethernet and Mini-PCI Wi-Fi Interface
To meet the demand of networking application, the
Liantec
EMB-5740 EmBoard
provides four onboard optional Intel / RTL Gbit / Fast Ethernet
interfaces and one mini-PCI socket for Wi-Fi WLAN expansibility.
With the onboard PCI-based
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution, the
EMB-5740 EmBoard
is upgradeable to eight Gbit Ethernet, three mini-PCI or two PCMCIA
PC Card expansive interfaces within the same form factor of 5.25"
drive-size EmBoard and fit into the slim type systems with 1U or
1.75 inches of height for the niche industrial networking computing
solution with multiple Ethernet, multiple WLAN and WWAN interfaces
for the firewall, VPN, VoIP and other networking application.
Tiny-Bus Embedded Modular Expansion
Solution
The
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution
is an
embedded modular expansion solution with
PCI-Express x16 Graphics, AGP, PCI-Express x4/x1 and PCI
bus interfaces on the compact 2.920 x 3.600 inches of embedded
module. With
the
Tiny-Bus® Modular Expansion Solution, the system integrators can build their
niche platform systems with special interface modules flexibly, easily,
quickly and cost effectively.
For the
EMB-5740
EmBoard, the onboard Tiny-Bus offers the PCI-based expansibility
with 2 bus master PCI bus interfaces on the embedded board-to-board
connector. Based on the PCI-based Tiny-Bus modular expansion
solution, the EMB-5740 EmBoard offers the flexible expansibility
including more Ethernet, mini-PCI and PCMCIA PC Card
interfaces and other PCI-based customized interface modules as the
table below.
